Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor, producer, and director. She has been praised for movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, like an Oscar for the film Piano. The well-known actress began her acting career on the stage with an array of Broadway and Off Broadway productions. From her early years, she has been passionate about acting. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. The actress was deaf in one ear following a bout of Mumps, but she didn't let this disability dampen her desire to be an actor. Her college studies included drama in Pittsburgh, then relocated between Pittsburgh into New York City to follow her dream. A chance meeting led her to became stuck in an elevator together with writer Beth Henley and the two collaborated in the Broadway Crimes of the Heart and became Hunter's debut.
